Elementary Therapy Dog
Our Elementary counselor will be utilizing a therapy dog next year in our elementary.  Our elementary counselor Heather Schalk owns the dog and is finishing up her therapy certifications with her dog Hava. Hava will accompany her at all times.   Information will be sent home to parents regarding the newest addition to our staff.

Wrestling
A junior high student at New Riegel has been approved to wrestle next school year.  We've been in contact with Carey as they will coach the athlete and OHSAA and the board approved the agreement at the June board meeting.  The NR wrestler will wear the New Riegel uniform and represent our school in the sport of wrestling.

Maintenance Review
A review of items to be taken care of this summer has been reviewed.  Items include: Painting main office, new carpet in office and lobby, bus garage clean out.    We are getting a quote from the building of the auditeria concession stand and on the track building.  The JH gym floor refinishing has been completed and is due to be open in mid June.    

Open Enrollment
We have accepted 145 open enrollment applications.  That is up from 133 a year ago.  

Negotiations
At the June BOE meeting the negotiated agreement was approved.   Below are the important changes agreed upon.
2022-2023 3% with a 2% lump sum payment on individual base, 2023-2024 3%, 2024-2025 3%. The lump sum payments are payments in recognition for the extra work and planning performed by the teachers during the pandemic.  There was a step indexed at year 24 and $1,000.00 at year 27.  
Dental and Vision Insurance changes and Medical Carve Out agreed upon.
Updated language to OTES 2.0 for evaluations and updated language for FMLA.
Changes to the Extra Curricular Schedule including: Raise for Varsity CC to be in line with the Varsity Track Coach, added Bowling, Clay Target, ESports, Color Guard.  Raise for Student Council Advisor, reviewed music/band positions and adjusted titles to be more in line with job responsibilities.
